Taylor Swift is dropping a new album on October 21st, called Midnights. It was announced on August 28th, 2022 on the MTV VMAs (Video Music Awards) when she won Best Longform Video for the song “All Too Well (10 minutes) Taylor’s Version”. 

With all of her joy, she wanted to say something to make her fans feel incorporated, “You guys, I am just so proud of what we made,” said Taylor Swift while winning the prize for All too Well 10-minute version. “We wouldn’t have been able to make this short film if it weren’t for you, the fans.”

While Taylot Swift was all emotional, she wanted to drop a surprise on her fans, “And I had sort of made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand-new album comes out Oct. 21. And I will tell you more at midnight,” 

After the announcement of the new album Taylor Swift gives a few more details on what the album will actually look like. “This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe when the clock strikes twelve… we’ll meet ourselves.”

Taylor also recorded all her albums and songs so that she owned them personally instead of Braun, her old publisher. With Braun owning her first six albums, she wanted to take back what was hers to begin with, and show her own name to the public. She did this by re-recording all of her older albums. 

The phrase “meet me at midnight” with almost all her fans. The album is available Friday October 21st, 2022 at exactly midnight (EST). You can pre-order the album if you want it on Spotify or Apple Music for $12-30 depending on where you purchase it.
