This year the Clear Creek Amana High School Swimmers of Williamsburg successfully obtained a float for the Homecoming Parade. None of the former CCA swimmers had ever attempted to get a float for the student representing Clear Creek Amana. Still, this year, Sophomore Jaymie Sherlock and I, Sydney Granquist, decided to take action. We gathered all of the swimmers from CCA and formed a plan. However, we didn’t realize how easy it was to get a float.

Jaymie planned the next day to march on up to Mrs. Moore’s room demanding a float for us. She also bribed Moore with her fabulous baked goods. Moore agreed. Jaymie just kindly asked and Mrs. Moore said yes. It was that easy. The new swimmers are so excited to be in the parade, this is their first year in high school and the upperclassmen want to make it as enjoyable as possible.

Kya and I took the liberty of buying the decorations from Walmart, I got distracted by the Halloween decorations pretty quickly but we got everything eventually. We bought white and blue balloons, multi-colored streamers, and car markers.

The swimmers had such a fun time decorating the car. We were laughing and joking around. The float was a success, I can’t wait to see what the swimmers do for the following years to come.
